Joyful Stags

Men and Women!

Would you like to gain more insight into the deep structures that animate the masculine psyche and in doing so come into deeper contact with your own healthy masculine nature?

Would you like to understand the critical differences between male and female psychological development and how initiation and rites of passage serve our major transitions from a psychological and mythological perspective?

Are you curious about the specific differences between the Generative Masculine and Patriarchy and why we seem to be in perpetual states of war; why marketing and advertising are so effective, why addictions and suicide are so rife and why the education system particularly fails boys at critical stages of their development in ways that leave our families and our societies missing the deeply nourishing presence of mature adult men?

I will be presenting Dr Robert Moore's brilliant and prescient map and explaining, in plain English, accompanied with humour, poetry and some fire, how the King / Warrior / Magician and Lover archetypes and their subordinates are at play in the world today and, how these energies directly affect our everyday lives for better and worse.

I spent a week with Dr Moore in 2008 and was deeply inspired by his wisdom and insight. A Jungian Analyst and Theologian, he evolved Toni Wolfs discoveries of the core archetypal structures inherent in the human psyche and through extensive research brought them into a balanced generative constellation.

It is this map that has provided the foundations for most of my work since that time and continues to inspire me today; especially in light of the increasing incidents of terrorism, fundamentalism, suicide and depression particularly amongst men but also in light of the financial crises, corruption in politics and passivity on the part of the general population concerning the issue of climate change.

This day-long event will be in two parts. You can attend the just morning or opt to attend both the morning and afternoon. If, after attending the morning you wish to return for the afternoon, you can do so space permitting. It not possible to attend just the afternoon.

During the morning session (930 – 1230) we will learn about archetypes in general before exploring the 4 core masculine archetypes and their subordinates. There will be direct input from me and group discussion as we gather in turn around each of these energetic potentials and start to explore our personal relationships to them.

Those who wish to explore further are invited to return at 2pm where we will reconvene in circle move into deeper shared personal enquiries. The afternoon will include generative trance, simple self-generated ritual and time on the land interacting with these archetypes in nature. We will close at 6pm.

This event is open to men and women including young adults aged approx.’ 12 and up. It will be extremely useful to teachers, parents, therapists and social workers and those interested in generative cultural change.

Space is limited and interest is usually very high. Please register to guarantee a place or arrive in good time to avoid disappointment.
